A Pastor, A Mama, And The Mouse

Picture this …

Makeup – some people love it, some people hate it … me personally … I love it. Not for reasons I’m sure you’re thinking, either. When you have some self esteem issues you tend just try and find something to make you feel better about yourself. I never really started wearing makeup until stepping out into the professional world and it just made me feel more put together and professional looking. From there – I don’t think I have ever stopped. I have tried so many different makeups and looks and tips and tricks and techniques over the last, say, 10 years. And recently within the last 3 years I have found some of my favorite and super affordable products ever.

Picture this …. Dundalk, Maryland. 2020. Dance class with T. Another dance mom says hey, have you ever heard of Farmasi? Their products are incredible. Now, I used to sell Younique but couldn’t afford to buy the makeup myself so I was like … sure .. I’m sure they’re awesome but I could NEVER afford them. I was a stay at home mom, my husband owned his own business, and we were barely scraping by. And that’s when she gave me a dupe for a popular mascara from another brand. I fell in love. And for drug store prices, heck yeah! From there I purchased some shampoo from her. My hair is super fine and thin, and I tend to dye it too much and at that point it was fried and dried and made me cry (haha). So I purchased some of her keratin line and became a faithful customer. I lived in Florida and swore by their foundation because it didn’t run at the first sign of humidity like I often did. It stayed put and I loved it.

So here are a few of my favorite Farmasi products!

Foundation:

Stay Matte Foundation. It’s a liquid that goes matte and stays put through anything (I swear) it’s light weight but has amazing coverage … do you see that pimple by my mouth … no you don’t do you – it’s seriously that incredible.

Matte Liquid Lipsticks. I’m a diehard red lip kinda girl, but have almost every color that they make. If put on correctly (just a thin layer at a time and let it completely dry) I can put it on at 330a when I’m heading out the door for work and when I return home around 4/430 and then head to the church until about 730p it will still look amazing.

Mascara: The zen mascara is where it is at. I have tried so many different mascaras from other makeup companies, Walmart, drug stores, target, etc and keep coming back. It’s inexpensive and does exactly what I want. Length for days.

Eyeliner: I love a good wing for my eyeliner, probably because I have hooded eyes and feel like I have mastered a good wing that makes my eyes look bigger than they actually are. If you’re looking to do something like that you’re looking for a felt tip eye liner and the inkliner eyeliner is exactly like that. I can get my wing looking sharp and done literally in a second with it, and again it lasts all day which is something that is super important for me because of the length of my work days.

Skincare: This is where I bounce back and forth for a bit. I love the age reversist line to help combat the potential of fine lines and wrinkles as well as the calendula line because, well, Wyoming living and the air is SO dry here I just need the extra moisture.

Those are a few of my favorites! What are yours? Do you have a certain brand that you prefer over another … or do you just use a bit from here and there and everywhere?
